Obituary of Genevieve Mary Drongoski

-PORTAGE LAKES Genevieve 'Jean' Drongoski, 90, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2018, at St. Luke Lutheran Home. Born in Akron on June 15, 1927, Jean had been a Portage Lakes resident for nearly 70 years. She was a graduate of North High School and retired after 40 years from United Airlines in 1994, where she had worked as a secretary. During her career, Jean became a world traveler, visiting 6 continents & multiple countries. She was a devout member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, attending Mass daily. She volunteered as a Sunday School teacher. Jean was a member of the National Association of Professional Women, Akron Chapter. Jean was a true example of living a life like Christ, reminding everyone to live your life in an attitude of Christ. She will be remembered as a woman of sophistication & class. Jean was preceded in death by her mother and step-father Genevieve & Dale Trout and her sister Mary Smilek. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law Charles & Maritta Drongoski, as well as numerous nieces & nephews. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 9:30-10:30 am, at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where prayers will be said at 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church on Manchester Rd. in Coventry Twp. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
