Obituary of Helen Hunter

Look out Dad, Uncle Mike and Uncle Norm & everyone, Mom is on her way! Helen Hunter, 93, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2019 at her home. Helen was born March 6, 1926 to Michael and Maria Dameff in Johnstown, PA and had been an area resident for most of her life. She was employed by General Tire and Rubber Co. for over 40 years retiring in 1992. She was a member of St Elia Orthodox Church. She was a former member of P.L.E. Auxiliary 2736 and was a current member of Eagles Aerie 555. She was a pitcher for a softball team for General Tire. She loved hiking and golf and was renowned for her knife throwing skills. Helen was preceded in death by her husband Albert and siblings Veronica, Boris and Peter Dameff. She is survived by beloved daughter and son-in-law Mary and Al Schaefer and her beloved grandson David Schaefer, sister-in-law Cleeta Dameff and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 10:00 am with a service 11:00 Am at Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
