Obituary of Jovan Tosanovic

Jovan Tosanovic, age 72, passed away Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Akron General Medical Center following a brief illness. Jovan was born in Yugoslavia and came to the United States and Akron in 1997. Upon his arrival in Akron, Jovan worked at the Akron Foundry for a few years and prior to that he was the owner/operator of a restaurant business in Yugoslavia. He was a member of St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church in Akron. Jovan was preceded in death by his parents, Manojlo and Petra; and sister, Dragica. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Jokica; daughter and son-in-law, Zivana and Milan Cupac; son, Mane; brother, Bosko; grandchildren, Stefan and Aleksandar Cupac; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 29, 2019, at St. Archangel Michael Serbian Orthodox Church, 2552 Pickle Rd. Akron, Ohio 44312 where Jovan will lie in state one hour prior to service. Fr. Milan Pajic officiating. Interment at Lakewood Cemetery in Akron, 1080 W Waterloo Rd, at 12:30 p.m. The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday, January 28, 2019, at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301 where a Pomen service will be held at 7:00 p.m. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, Akron)
