Obituary of Barbara Jean Slota

Barbara J. Slota, 68, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, January 20, 2019. Barb was born December 27, 1950 in Akron to the late Marie E. (Kamlowsky) and Frank J. Rotunda Sr. She graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1968. Barb worked at Goodyear, McNeil & NRM, and most recently with Mobile Meals. Barb enjoyed camping at Hillside Park, taking walks, but most of all, spending time with her family. Barb was preceded in death by parents, Marie and Frank J. Rotunda Sr.; sister, Marie (Darrell) Pierce; brothers, Frank J. Rotunda Jr. and Martin Rotunda; brother-in-law, Harry Tonovitz. She leaves behind to cherish her memory, her loving husband of 47 years, Stephen Slota III; sons, Eric (Christina) Slota and Mark Slota; brother, Jerry (Sue) Rotunda; sisters, Elizabeth Rotunda and Clare Tonovitz; sisters-in-law, Kathleen (Larry) Carter, Elizabeth (Jim, deceased) Slota, and Barbara Ann Rotunda; brother-in-law, Fred (Shelly) Slota; grandchildren, Brianna, Anthony, Jesse, Roxie, and Quinn; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, January 25, 2019 at 10:00am. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private burial will be held at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. The family would like to thank the Cleveland Clinic Hospice staff for their comfort & generosity, and also the wonderful staff at Pebble Creek for making the last months feel like home.
