Obituary of Michelle I Spallino

Michelle I. Spallino, 59, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, January 2, 2019.

Born in Akron to the late Ben & Ida (Strongoli) Spallino, Michelle was a 1977 graduate of St. Vincent High School. She graduated from the University of Akron in 1994 and was a lifelong member of Blessed Trinity Catholic Church (formerly St. Martha).  She worked for the Ohio State Bureau of Workers Compensation as a Claims Specialist for many years. Michelle was a kind and generous person, who loved her family and friends. An incredible baker and ravioli maker, Michelle recently loved sharing her skills with her great-nephews and other family. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

In addition to her parents, Michelle was preceded in death by her sister & brother-in-law Christine and Robert Jones; and cousin Marie Baboila.  She is survived by her sister Mary (Laurel) Weygandt; niece Jennifer (Keith) Keene; nephew Robert Jones (Christina) and their sons Bobby and Jack; nephew Dustin Weygandt; aunts Violet Baboila & Beverly Gates; dear friend Teresa Binns; and numerous other aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 12 from 9:30-11:00AM at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 300 E. Tallmadge Ave, Akron, OH 44310.  A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM, immediately following the calling hours.  Private interment will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, Greater Ohio Chapter, 12930 Chippewa Road, Brecksville, OH 44141 or to Blessed Trinity Catholic Church.
