Obituary of Farrell J. Marquardt

Farrell J. Marquardt, 85 passed away Saturday, December 15, 2018. He was born in Akron and was a Real Estate Broker after retiring as a Supervisor from Firestone Tire & Rubber Co. Farrell was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean War. He was a trustee for the FOP Lodge 6. He was known for keeping his cars and garage in meticulous shape. He enjoyed playing Euchre with his gang for over 50 years and trips with his friends and family to Seven Springs and Holden Beach. He and his good friend, Dick Friend, enjoyed organizing the ABC Polka and FOP events. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Emma; and 2 brothers. He is survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Stephanie; sons, Jon (Missy) and Michael Marquardt; daughter, Julie Latchaw; grandchildren, James and Jill Latchaw and Courtney (Caleb) Blomgren; and great-grandson, Koen Latchaw whom he shared a special bond with. He will be deeply missed by his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in Akron. Fr. Matthew Pfeiffer celebrant. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery where Military Honors will also be held. The family will receive friends Tuesday, 4 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S.
