Obituary of Michael Lawrence Watkins

Michael L. Watkins, 24, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 16, 2018.

Born in Barberton to John & Jeris Watkins, Michael was a lifelong Barberton resident. He worked for Akron Electric as a machinist starting in 2011, before graduating from Barberton High School in 2012. Michael was a generous man, always willing to help anyone in need.  He loved his family and cherished fatherhood. Michael was a beloved husband, father, son and friend. 

He will be deeply missed by his wife Kathran (Sears); children Emma & Isaiah; parents John & Jeris Watkins; siblings Sasha & Abram Watkins and Ginger Swanner-Wood; grandparents James & Betty Smoot; great-aunt Opal Finney; dear friend Zac Taylor; and many nieces, nephews and other loved ones. He was preceded in death by his daughter Alexis and grandparents Laura & Art Watkins.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 21 from 1 to 2 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home of Green, 4178 Massillon Road (entrance off Steese). Funeral services will begin at 2PM at the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Michael’s family c/o the funeral home.
