Obituary of Frank J. Genet

Frank J. Genet, Sr. (Cheech), 99 years old, passed away Saturday, September 15, 2018.
Born April 11, 1919 in Stockport, NY to Italian immigrant parents, Anthony & Theresa (Savero) Genet, Frank moved to Akron when he was 10 years old. He was a proud WWII Army veteran, having served from 1941-1945. Frank retired from Anderson Motor Freight and went on to work 25 years at Rocky's Market, retiring at 92. Frank was a kind and gentle man who loved his family and his garden. It was a long journey, but now he is at peace.
Frank is survived by his daughters Rosemarie Davis, Lucille Genovese and son Frank Jr.; Grandchildren Kelle (Ken) Kennerly, Cindy Wiswesser, Joe (Jennifer) Genovese, Frank (Mary) Genovese, Annemarie (Jim) Price, Lisa (Adam) Henretty, Krista (Jeff) Basone and Ally (Justin) Heiney; 27 great-grandchildren; and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 67 years, Josephine; and sisters Rose, Mary, Angelina, Lena, Mable and brother Sam.
Special thanks to caregivers Jackie Wilson and Cobe Austin for the love and tenderness they showed to dad.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, 10 am, at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where the family will also receive friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
