Obituary of David Dornack
David (Dave) Dornack, age 64, passed away September 6, 2018 after a brief illness.
When Dave was a child, he was always fascinated with automobiles. He used to build model cars and trucks and then line them up to resemble a car lot. In 1990, he opened Akron Auto Sales in Ellet, and was the owner and operator for many years before retiring the business to his children. Dave loved the outdoors and could always be found outside working in some form or another. He was a die-hard Steelers fan and was well known in the Pittsburgh area as "Ticket Dave." He will be best known for his big heart. He was the first person to offer help when anyone was in need, especially those who had been struck with illness. Offering the best advice, he was the perfect person to turn to when you needed to talk. He had a soft spot for all stray animals. His most recent rescues (Bones and Bentley) will be lost without him.
He is preceded in death by parents Steven and Dorothy Dornack; stepfather Tom DeCastro; father and mother-in-law Augustus and Clementine Hall; sister-in-law Barbara Leonard.
He leaves behind his beloved wife Rene'; daughter Rachael Dornack & son David Jr. (Maria) Dornack; grandchildren Lea and Andrew Dornack; brother Kenneth (Janet) Dornack; sisters-in-law Diann (Benny) Herdman, JoAnn (Lynn) Callahan, Carole (Nick) Corriere, Gina (David) Giffels; brother-in-law Gus (Kim) Hall; good friends and nephews David Lowry & Stephen Dornack, and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Per Dave's wishes there will be no calling hours. A celebration of life for family and close friends will be held at a later date. (Anthony Funeral Homes, 330.724.1281, anthonyfh.com)
