Robert Lindsay

Obituary of Robert Eugene Lindsay

Robert E. Lindsay, 70,  passed away Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Akron City Hospital.

Robert was born September 29, 1947 to George and Betty (Childres) Lindsay in Gassaway, WV and had been an area resident most of his life. He was the owner operator of the Cliffside Club for over 31 years.

He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and a member of VFW Post 3383.

Dad was conflicted over his military service.  He was proud when his country called his number, he did his duty. Like his dad. But dad suffered,

dealing with the scars that war inflicted, and later in life when he had health issues, related to his exposure to agent orange. That was a tough pill to swallow.  Dad was a proud man.  He believed and prayed to God often. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and made several trips to Sturgis.  He will be truly missed by his family and many friends.

Robert is survived by his children Marc Lindsay and Stephanie Pribonic; grandchildren Maurgen and Molly Lindsay, Josh Hankins, and Caleb and Payton Pribonic; sisters Donna Lindsay Hinkle and Tammy (Michael) Luisi; nephews Mike and Nick Luisi; and his soul mate Debbie Lindsay.

The family will receive friends Tuesday 4 to 7 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron OH 44301 where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 7:00 pm.  Interment with Military Honors will take place Wednesday at 1:30pm at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery  (please arrive by 1:15pm and meet by front entrance).
