Jane Prince

Obituary of Jane Theresa Prince

Our beloved mom, Jane Theresa Prince, 91, passed into the loving embrace of Our Lord and Savior on August 3.

She was preceded in death by her adored husband, Gordon, whose life-long interest in flying she supported to the extent that she earned her own private, instrument, and commercial pilots' licenses. Between the two of them, their shared love of flying took them all over the country including the annual Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin as well as numerous other air shows. Mom was a member of the Ninety-Nines, a women's flying club. In addition, she was the consummate gardener whose gardens were a source of awe for so many. Mom also loved walking, sewing, cooking, and baking. While having four young children to care for, she worked tirelessly alongside Dad as he built custom homes and apartments. Morn embodied sweetness and, to the end of her days, had a smile that would light up a room. Mom's most significant legacy, however, will always be her devotion to family.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Cynthia (John) Ludlum; her sons, Barry (Linda) Prince, Jack (Paulette) Prince, and Robert Prince; her seven grandchildren, Chloe (Renee) Prince; Laura Prince; Scott and Sarah Miller: Jaclyn (Mike) Swyt; Jennifer (Ryan) Nolan; & Julie (Justin) Lafferty; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

The third youngest--and last surviving--of 10 children born on June 2, 1927 to the late Mary (Glassner) and Aloysius Armbruster, Mom was a native of Akron, Ohio and spent most of her life there. While attending St. Mary High School, Mom worked at Goodyear Aircraft escorting visiting World War II military VIPs. She met Gordon while he was home on leave during World War II from the Army Air Corps where he was a flight instructor. Within three weeks, she knew he was The One.
