Carolyn retired from teaching first grade at Lincoln Elementary and Firestone Park, for Akron Public Schools in 2011, leaving behind a network of teaching comrades. She enjoyed her "First Friday Friends". She adored her life long "Ya-Yas" who always had an occasion planned in or out of town. She was always up for a game of cards with all her card clubs. She looked forward to her mahjong gang as well. She liked gathering around the table with her Belles. She had dear friends near and far.

She loved to be surrounded by people. Children were her passion. She was a teacher and caretaker. Every moment with her was a learning experience filled with love.
Her family spent many years at St. Paul Parish where she admired Father Thomas. She was currently a member of St. Francis de Sales Parish where she found her perfect fit with Father Bline.

We would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Summa Hospital and The James.
