Obituary of Kara Ann Williams

Kara Ann Williams, 43, passed away in her sleep, after a massive heart attack, on July 6,2018.
Kara was born on January 6, 1975 to Jennie (Diehl) and Bob Williams. 
Kara is survived by her parents, brother Jeff Williams of Denver & sister Michele Fitzgerald, nephew Matthew Fitzgerald and niece Mc Kenna Fitzgerald of Akron. She is also survived by her best friend since childhood Erin Dean of Kent.  Kara has a large family and is survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins from all around the country. She is survived by the Raines, Taylor and Monter families in Akron. She is also survived by the Diehl family in Alliance and CO. Her family also includes the Betancourts in MS and CT; and the Gant families in CO and Hawaii.
Kara graduated from Green High School.  She attended Kent State where she graduated Suma Cum Laude with a double degree in Psychology and Sociology. Kara earned her Master’s Degree Magna Cum Laude from Boston College in Boston, MI. She worked with adolescents at a Residential Treatment Center that treated teen clients.
Kara moved back from Boston to Kent.  She worked as a Counselor for Akron Child Guidance.
She also worked in home based services with the teen population in Kent and Ravenna. When Kara was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis she retired due to her health issues.
Kara received her first kitten when she was 12. This cat went to college in Kent and Boston. When she flew home for holidays, Allie came with her. She was a well-traveled cat. After that she has had too many cats to remember.
Kara was always willing to help a friend in need.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Sunday, July 15, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, at 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301, followed by a memorial service at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life luncheon for Kara will be provided by her family for everyone at the funeral home immediately following the service.(Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, AKRON)
