Jim Eaglewolf

Obituary of Jim Eaglewolf

Jim Eaglewolf, 64, crossed over on July 9, 2018, after suffering a heart attack.
Born on August 2, 1953 in Akron to the late James & Jessie Goudy, Jim attended East High School before enlisting to serve his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, and was stationed in Germany for 3 years. Upon his return home, he enjoyed life with family & friends, playing softball, & bowling, all while searching for someone special. In 1991, through friends Cheryl & Bob Williams and Harold Korman, he was set up on a blind date with Patty. His life started anew, as they became friends and soulmates. Jim went on to earn his GED in 1996. Patty's Husky-German Shepard, Lincoln, was protective at first, but eventually fell in love with Jim, and trips to the park in his red truck. On Sept. 26, 1998 Jim & Patty became companions for life through marriage and followed the Native American Red Road Path, forging a new beginning with a Shawnee wedding ceremony and new lives as the Eaglewolfs. This path led them to a new native circle of friends. Along the journey they also became interested in country dancing, attending Pow Wows, camping, and enjoying nature & animals. As time passed they became caregivers to the elders in the family.
Jim worked at both Miller Party Rental & Sully's Party Rental and later as a plumber for Duke's Drain & Plumbing. Jim always put the customer first and was requested back by many of his customers. Jim had a big heart and was always in touch with what kids liked whether it was Harry Potter, Swan Lake, or Frozen. Christmas to him was every day of the year. Recently, gardening became a passion and he was on a quest to saving the Monarch Butterfly, by planting milkweed in the yard. Special thanks goes to his cousin Fred Mills for his support and friendship throughout his life. Also a thank you neighbors Jan & John Sheppard for their friendship.
In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his sister Linda. He is survived by his wife of nearly 20 years, Patty; brother Mike (Chris) Goudy; sisters Thelma Goudy & Connie (Steve) Donatelli, as well as numerous nieces & nephews; brother & sister-in-law Joe (Coleen) Schreiber.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 5-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will take place on Friday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron, with full military honors. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jim's memory to the Summit County Metroparks Foundation 975 Treaty Line Rd., Akron, OH 44313.
