Obituary of Betty Jean Pint

Betty Pint, 95, passed away peacefully on July 2, 2018.
Born in Canal Fulton on December 15, 1922 to the late Walter & Mary (Rich) Etling, Betty graduated from Canal Fulton High School and earned her BA in economics from Notre Dame College in 1943. She worked as an executive level bookkeeper for the Firestone Tire & Rubber Co., retiring in 1959. She was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Firestone Park. Betty had been an active member and past-president of PTA's at Voris, Roswell-Kent, & Garfield HS. She served on the board of the Firestone Park YMCA and was active as a member of the Firestone Park Citizens Council. Betty was an active member of the Christ Child Society, Council of Catholic Women and the Catholic Daughters of America. She loved helping others by donating blood and was very proud of the many gallons she had given. Betty loved to bowl & play bridge, and traveled all over the country with her husband Jim, visiting all 50 states and 11 countries with Elderhostel.
In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her brothers Virgil, Lester, & Kenneth Etling. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Jim; children Rebecca Pint, Ellen (John Norris) Pint, Sheila Pint-Luther, & Bruce (Christina) Pint, as well as 7 grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 11:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 am until the time of the service. Inurnment of ashes will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution to the American Red Cross 501 W Market St, Akron, OH 44303 or to the St. Vincent dePaul Society at St. Paul Catholic Church 1580 Brown St. Akron, OH 44301.
