Obituary of Agnes Marie Williams
Agnes Marie Williams, 55, went home to be with the Lord on June 26, 2018.
She was born in Akron, Ohio, and lived much of her life in Maryland. She received her B.S. in Computer Science from the University of Akron, and worked for the Federal Government for 26 years before retiring. She volunteered at the Howard County Library in Columbia, Md., and as a reading tutor at the Ft. Meade Middle School in Ft. Meade, Md..
As part of her Catholic faith, she was blessed as a Minister of Praise by her pastor at St. Mary's in Laurel, Md.. As part of this, she offered her prayers for the sick, dying, and deceased, and all of those in need of God's help. She loved taking pictures, traveling around the world, meeting new people, and helping others. She loved cats.
She is survived by her brothers, John (Tari) Williams and Paul (Anne) Williams; sisters Sr. Agnes Joseph, OSF (Kathleen Williams), Elizabeth (Sam) Lawrence, Susan (Ron) DeWitt, and Anne Williams; nephews and nieces, Christine, Rebecca, Joseph, Michael, Anthony, Francis, Charles, and Crystal; and great nephews and nieces, Leland, Adam, Daphne, and Anna. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Francis and Mary (nee Bowling) Williams, and sister, Mary Ann Cosgarea.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, June 29 at 10 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Church located at 4019 Manchester Rd, Akron OH, 44319. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Guiding Eyes for the Blind, Best Friends Animal Sanctuary of Utah, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or operationsmile.org.
