Obituary of Carmen E. Ciccarelli

Carmen 'Chick' E. Ciccarelli, 89, passed away peacefully on June 23rd at the Gables of Green.
Born in Akron on October 29, 1928 to the late Carmine & Mary Ciccarelli, Chick grew up on North Hill and was a 1946 graduate of North High School, where he was a proud member of the basketball team that played in the state championship game. Chick served his country stationed in Japan as a member of the US Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired from Ohio Bell in 1983 with 30 years of service. He was a member of Castel di Sangro Society, as well as the Telephone Pioneers, and the SIlver League. Chick was an avid athlete and played many sports well into his sixties. He loved watching sports, especially his kids, grandkids, and all the Cleveland teams. Chick was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Green. He never missed his Thursday morning breakfast with his friends at the Farmer Boy Restaurant. Even until the end, Chick had an unfailing sense of humor and never missed the opportunity to yank someone's chain.
In addition to his parents, Chick was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 55 years Laura Lee; sisters Alice (Louie) Gasbarro & Erma (Al) Sharnsky; brothers Patrick (Bianca), William (Mary), & Robert Ciccarelli.
