Obituary of Louise A. Pollard

-CUYAHOGA FALLS
Louise Pollard, 87, completed her journey on June 19, 2018, after a short battle with cancer.
Born in Akron on March 27, 1931 to the late Patsy & Josephine Leone, Louise grew up as part of the Italian Community on Howard St. in North Hill and was a 1948 graduate of North High School.  She was a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Cuyahoga Falls, where she was a member of the Altar & Rosary Society.  Louise was a member of the Sons of Italy Akron Lodge #685.  Louise 'Weezie' was a proud and devoted supporter of Walsh Jesuit High School, where she worked and volunteered for over 30 years, as an employee in the Alumni & development office, and as a volunteer in the bingo program, earning the nickname, Madame Bingo.  Throughout her time in the bingo program she made many friends and touched the lives of many parents, volunteers, & police officers, who to this day, still comment on how much they enjoyed working with Louise at bingo.  Throughout her later years, with her good friends Fran & Rose, she made many friends at several places, especially as a participant at IHM Bingo.  Louise loved penny & nickel slots, especially with her beloved sister Rose Aulizia.  Above all, Louise was a devoted and loving grandmother, who did everything and anything she could for her grandchildren.  She never missed a sporting event or school activity and was very proud of them for all that they have accomplished.
In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her brothers Ralph & Michael Leone; mother-in-law Mary C. Pollard; brothers-in-law Joe Balas, Jim Snock, & Jim Eckert.  She is survived by her beloved husband of 60 years Edward J. Pollard; her children Edward Jr., Mary Jo Bittner, & Mike (Cindy) Pollard; grandchildren Ashley (Justin) Layton, Austin Pollard, Nathan Bittner, and Nikki, Mackenzie, & Mikey Pollard; great-grandchildren Cohen & Connor Layton; sister Rose Aulizia of Warren, OH.  The family would like to express their heartfelt thanks and appreciation to Mary Fair & Bob McFadden from the Lloyd St. neighborhood, for their friendship and care during Louise's time of need.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Don Petkash on Monday June 25, 10:00 am, at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Second St. in Cuyahoga Falls.  Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery in Northfield.  In lieu of flowers, please consider a memorial contribution in Louise's memory to the Walsh Jesuit High School Athletic Department 4550 Wyoga Lake Rd.
