Obituary of Robert William McGill

Robert W. McGill, 83, passed away Friday, May 11, 2018. Born on May 21, 1934 in Cuyahoga Falls to the late John & Maude McGill, Robert was a lifelong area resident. He served in the Army National Guard, achieving the rank of Motor Sergeant. Bob worked for the former Geo. J. Meyer Company as the Director of Engineering, before retiring in 1991. He loved to tinker, fixing everything for everyone and making good use of his home machine shop. A man of high intelligence, Bob seemed to have an answer to almost any question. He enjoyed boating, camping with his family, and could often be heard on the CB, handle "SeaRay". Above all, Bob had a very kind soul-he was a wonderful husband, father & grandfather, and he will be greatly missed. In addition to his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife Betty in 2007, and his brother Richard I. McGill. He is survived by his sons; Kenneth Allan of Norwalk, Ohio and Jeffrey Robert of Heath, Ohio; grandson Ian Andrew of Norwalk, Ohio; sister-in-law Mae-Jeanne McGill of Evanston, Illinois; and many dear nieces. A graveside service will be held TOMORROW Monday, May 15 at 11:00 am at Oakwood Cemetery, 2420 Oakwood Dr. in Cuyahoga Falls.
