Obituary of Charles J. Yen
Charles J. “Chuck” Yen, Sr., 86 passed away Friday, April 20, 2018.
He was born in Akron and was a Field Engineer with A.S. Hilbeck and D & M Contractors retiring after 30 years of service. Charles was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Firestone VFW Post 3383 and a Past President of the Munroe Falls Lions Club. He also loved to dance.
Charles was preceded in death by his parents; 2 brothers; and 2 sisters. He is survived by his friend, love and wife of 44 years, Rose Marie; children, Debbie Yen-Wolfe, Sherri Darrow-Reed, Cathy (Roy) Crihfield, Renee Yen (Harry) Dugan, Charles J. Yen, Jr., Louis (Laura) Darrow, Darrin (Leslie) Yen and Mari Yen (Frank) Stams; 17 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren including special great-granddaughter, Anna.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2101 17th St. SW Akron, Ohio 44314 where friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Inurnment at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. Donations may be made to Firestone VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 3383, 690 W. Waterloo Rd. Akron, Ohio 44314 or to the Church. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, Akron)
