Obituary of Frances Hazlett
Helen Frances Hazlett, 87, died Thursday, February 15, 2018.
Frances was born on June 18, 1930 to the late Glen & Mary Wallis in Elizabethtown, KY. She graduated from Nazareth College with a Bachelor's Degree in Home Economics before coming to Akron with her new husband Bob in the early '50s. A dedicated wife & mother, Frances worked hard raising their 6 children and maintaining a well-functioning household. She was a faithful member of St. Paul Catholic Church, active in the Ladies' Guild, Senior Prayer Group, organizing Bingo, and serving as a Eucharistic Minister. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the St. VM Band Booster Club.
In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 53 years, Bob; sister Ginny and brother David. She is survived by her children John R. (Karen), Paul J. (Elayne), Mary, Patricia (Joe) Dudek, Stephen (Janet), and Michael (Diana); grandchildren Raechel (Josh) Haecker, Matthew Hazlett, Shawna Hazlett, Katherine (Stephen) McCarthy, Christopher (fiancee Stephanie Inglezakis) Dudek, Brian (Cassie) Dudek, Kevin (Kaitlin) Hazlett, Andrew (Alissa) Hazlett, Jacob (Ellie) Hazlett, Joshua Hazlett, Mikhayla Hazlett, and Ryan Hazlett; great-grandchildren Bridget, Brendan, Daniel and Lilyanna; and dear friends Fr. Ralph Thomas and Sandy Bernert.
The family is grateful to Nurse Mary, and Nurse Carla, as well as Aids Tim, Riquel, Shelby, and so many others who provided such fantastic care for Mom at St. Edwards and also to the Palliative Care Staff on 3East at Summa City Hospital. We deeply appreciate and will always remember your love and care for Mom.
The family will receive friends Monday, February 19 from 5-7 PM at the Anthony Funeral Home, Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S Main St in Akron. Funeral services will begin Tuesday at 10:30 at the funeral home, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 11AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. in Akron. Interment at Holy Cross Cemetery.
