Obituary of Luella June Madden

Luella June Madden, 84, passed away January 31, 2018, surrounded by her family. Born in Akron on June 25, 1933 to the late Newell & Armie Long, Luella was a lifetime resident and a graduate of East High School. She retired in 1999 from Summa Health System where she worked as a medical secretary and continued to volunteer there until the Spring of 2017. Luella was a faithful member of Lifespring Christian Church in Firestone Park. In addition to her parents, Luella was preceded in death by her husband Samuel in 2008, as well as 7 brothers & sisters. She is survived by her children Debra Singleton of NJ, Jack (Laurie) Madden of Munroe Falls, Linda (Tom) Parente of Green , & Michelle (Jon) Garey of Stow. grandchildren Halle (Bobby) Baldor, Heather (Jeff) Hamstra, Emily (Jay) Fetter, Sarah Alhassani, Nicholas (Stephanie) Alhassani, Jessica Davis, Stephanie (Joe) Berger, Danny (Lexi) Madden, Brandon Garey & Alex (Marianne) Garey, & Giavonna, Parente Tommy Parente, and Samantha Parente, as well as 18 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 2-5 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A funeral will take place on Monday, 10 am, at Lifespring Christian Church 1828 Marigold Ave. Akron, OH 44301. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to Lifespring Christian Church or to Hospice of VNS 3358 Ridgewood Rd. Akron, OH 44333. "I'd like the memory of me to be a happy one.
