Dear Family of Freddie, my deepest sympathy for your loss. Freddie was a very good friend of mine at the Peter Maurin Center when I would go on Tuesdays for bible study. He did not join us for bible study but was the the center for companionship and meals. When we did prayers and intentions we always started with Freddie, he would pray for almosts everybody: war veterans, the blind center etc. Sr. Barbara, Sr. Alicia(me), all the priests, Fr. Karg, Fr. Bill, Fr. Joe, Fr. Jim etc. I would see him give his money away to other members that would come to the center in need of a couple of dollars for cigaretts I would assume., he would give to the music man John who would play the piano. What a great blessing for me to have met him and known him. Thank you for sharing him with us and me in particular. I would always speak in Spanish to him. I just found out about it and had not read the paper. I will miss him terribly. He was a good man, he loved when I would always give him a kiss and I love to give it to him for he would say: "a kiss from God". May our gracious God give you comfort at this time of great loss.
