I was so sorry to hear of Miss D's passing. She was a great help when my mom was going through chemo & radiation. She continued to be a wonderful source of info as well as a friend. She said my mom was one her greatest accomplishments!
My mom just passed on Valentine's Day. 2/14/2018. She had cancer in 2002 and we had her cancer free for another 15 1/2 years. I believe she had a helping hand in that! My mom's name is Eloise Hagans. She passed due to progressing Parkinson's .
I will keep you all in my thoughts and prayers .

My husband and I first met Miss D 32 years ago today when he was diagnosed with acute leukemia and entered Akron General. He was not expected to live through the first night and Miss D stayed with us and helped us process the horrific diagnosis we had just been given. We were so young and Miss D took care of us as if we were her children. She never left us, not even during our time at Cleveland Clinic. My husband lived another 14 months; and, Miss D was still with us in the end at the funeral home. I will be eternally grateful for her loving compassionate soul. I have never, and will never, ever forget her. Love you Miss D. Rest in God’s arms. Susan (and Ray) Samples.

"Ms. Di" was a tireless advocate for oncology patients and will be missed. She taught me so much when I was a young nurse just starting out. Deepest condolences to her family. The world needs more like her.

Miss "Di" hired me and trained me in 1974. She has remained a mentor through the years. I much later had the honor of caring for her mother at the Hospice Care Center and comforted her when her mother passed. She has frequently been in my thoughts though all these years. She was a tireless Servant and Inspiration.
I wish her Peace and Eternal Wisdom. I send her Family Love and Light.
