Obituary of Irene Mary Shannon

Irene Mary Shannon, 92 passed away Wednesday, December 27, 2017. She was born in Brooklyn, New York and graduated from Fontbonne Hall Academy in Brooklyn. She was a devoted daughter and a member of Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church in Akron. Irene was preceded in death by her parents, John Francis and Margaret (Sheehan) Shannon; nephews, Billy and Jimmy Shannon; 1 sister; and 5 brothers. She is survived by her sister, Dorothy Ann of Akron; brother, William of Vermont; and multiple nieces and nephews. Requiem Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday, 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 450 Dennison Ave. Akron, Ohio 44312 where friends may call at 10 a.m. and a Rosary service will be held at 10:40 a.m. Fr.
