William Kennedy

Obituary of William Boniface Kennedy

From his birth on June 10, 1934 in Akron, Ohio, until his death on Tuesday, December 5th, 2017 at the Cleveland Clinic's Hospice Care Center, Bill graced those around him with his gifts of faith, love, and kindness. He graduated from Manchester High School in 1952, where he played basketball and was crowned Christmas King. A Charter Member of St. Francis de Sales Parish, Bill was an active parishioner since its inception. He spent 8 years as a Marine Reservist. Bill was proud of the many homes he built in the Akron area. He enjoyed building with his own hands, and retired after working 22 years as a carpenter for Goodyear. He and his wife were the proud owners of Kennedy Krafts. Bill was known for his devotion to his family and church, loving smile, and honesty. One of Bill's passions was giving back to the community, and among his favorite activites were serving meals to the homeless at St. Bernard's and his work with St. Vincent de Paul. He visited countless homebound people, bringing smiles and entertaining stories. He belonged to the Knights of Columbus 1617 and to St. Francis Senior Group. He is survived by Delorse Mae (Baltrinic), his wife of 63 years, his children Patrick (Melissa), John, Kathy, and Linda; grandaughters Shanleigh Kennedy and Cydney Walker; his siblings: brother, Jim (Pauline), Sr. Delphine Kennedy, CSJ; and many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his father, Emmett, and mother, Mary, his sister, Mary Mabel, who died at birth, his brother, Wayne, as well as many beloved members of the Kennedy and Baltrinic Families. Calling hours will be held from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, December 8th at Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel , 1990 South Main Street, Akron, Ohio 44301.
