Obituary of Olga Korora

Olga (Kirek) Korora, 91, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2017. Born on September 12, 1926, Olga lived her entire life in Kenmore and was a 1944 graduate of Kenmore High School, and was proud to have attended all of her class reunions. Olga worked for many years as a secretary. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and loved to talk on the phone with her nieces & nephews, whose thoughtfulness brought her great joy. Olga was always the life of the party and never met a stranger. Her passion was people and the stories of their lives, and she always loved to share a good laugh over a beer. Olga loved to cook and was famous for her 'Olgie's pierogies'. Olga was preceded in death by her husband George and daughter Mary, as well as six siblings. She is survived by her son Milan (Sue) Korora; daughters Toni Korora, Betty (Jim) Steurer, Georgine Gwinn, & Melanie (Jim) Benn; 8 grandchildren & 6 great-grandchildren; brother-in-law Jack Post, as well as many nieces, nephews, & close friends. As Mommy always said, 'Just smile and be nice!' She will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends Friday, 4-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral service will take place on Saturday at 11 am. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
