Obituary of Mary Staycheff

Mary R. Staycheff, the last of the amazing Gerber girls, passed away at 93 Friday October 27, 2017. Mary was born September 13, 1924 in Brewster Ohio to the late Francis Xavier and Carrie (Deth) Gerber. She graduated from Navarre High School and worked at Goodyear Aircraft (Rosie), B. F. Goodrich and Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. She lived 65 years in the Firestone Park area of Akron. She was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. She was an avid reader, sports enthusiast and gardener. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years Carl Thomas Staycheff; her brothers Ivan and Robert; sisters Henrietta, Dorothy, Ethel, Ruth and her twin sister Irma. She is survived by Sons Thomas C. Staycheff of MT & William G. Staycheff (Cindy) of Silver Lake; Daughters Carrie M. Sawyer (Bob) of SC & Jean F. Mueller (Bill) of IL; Grandchildren Mark and Nicole Staycheff, Miranda and Michael Mueller, and Rachel (Mike) Hamm; Great Grandchildren Brennan, Casey, and Delanie; Cousin Willis Gaffey. Per her request there will be no calling hours. A Memorial Mass will take place later. She will be laid to rest next to her husband at the Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman, Ohio
