Obituary of Virginia Violet Sample

Virginia Violet Sample(nee Mody), 84, passed away peacefully on October 9, 2017. Born in Akron on June 24, 1933 to the late Stanley and Jesse Mody, Virginia was a graduate of North High School. She raised her family in Kenmore and retired from PPG Industries in 1990. She was a faithful member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She was active in the Polish-American Club, Red Hat Society, and the Kenmore Seniors. Virginia was an avid gardener and especially loved tending to her flower gardens. In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her son Thomas J. Collins; husband Dana J. Sample and sister Mary Jane Olesky. She is survived by her children Robert A. (Lisa) Blachaniec, Victoria Paster, & Susan Greenawald; grandchildren Leah & Kiley Blachaniec, & Virginia, Thomas, & Chad Anthony; great-grandchildren Bradley Anthony & Jaxston Thomas; special nephew Stan (Joette) Olesky; niece Val (Dana) Tessicini, as well as many friends and extended family. The family will receive friends on Thursday, 5-8 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jacob Bearer on Friday, 11am, At St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 4019 Manchester Rd. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
