Am so sorry to hear of the passing of one of the most wonderful, humble and kind man that I ever met. His heart was huge and his passion for people with disabilities was amazing. I know how much he cared about his family and Steve will certainly be missed. I was honored to work with Steve and stayed in contact year to year via Christmas Cards. You are all in my prayers!

Dear Mike, Pat, Mary Beth, Jeanne & Rosie,
I was so sorry to read of the loss of your beloved Brother, Steve.
I know all too well how the loss of a brother to cancer can break hearts in two.
He was a good man and loved by many.
I always think of him when I hear the song, 'Killing me Softly', by Roberta Flack.
I remember visiting the family in Columbus in 1973 and Steve was nice enough to take Todd, Rosie and I to see the Disney movie, The Worlds Greatest Athlete', when the song came on in the car. He told us to listen to it and that he loved he lyrics and melody and began to sing along with it.
I don't know why that memory stuck in my head since that time, but I never forgotten that moment and the fun we had during the visit.
Be comforted by the thought that your Mom & Dad were there to greet him with open arms when he passed over. We'll all meet again one day.

I just thought he was wonderful. He was one of my grade school teachers and then when I grew up he lived near me. I would see him at Walgreens and we talked all the time. So sorry for his loss

Eileen,
We are so sorry to hear about Steve's death and we hold you and your family in prayer. We fondly remember the times we were together when we all were first married as we prayed and shared our spirits together. Pat remembers the time when you went into labor! It was a joy to teach with Steve at St. V. It's too bad our families drifted apart over the years. We're sorry that we will be out of town this weekend; otherwise, we would be there to celebrate Steve's life with you. Hopefully, we can find a time to get together and celebrate and remember. Tuesday morning, while searching the net for Steve's obituary, I came across some entries that he had written in his journal, and later published, entitled "Some Memories about our Dad". Reading his comments not only brought back fond memories of Uncle Mike, but also reminded me again of the gentle and caring nature that defined Steve. Along with his family, his legacy continues in the countless lives he improved throughout his life.
Our hearts go out to Eileen, their children and grandchildren, and to all of Steve's siblings. We understand the loss you feel. We also understand that you are people of faith and know that he is now in God's presence.
While Chris and I will not physically be with you for the services, please know that, spiritually, we will always be with you.

Steve was my teacher at STVM but became my friend years later when both our kids were in STVM band together. Steve always made us feel so important and he was a great friend to myself, my husband, Mike Rossi and all three of my children: Dave, Sara and Lauren. He will be dearly missed by us all.

Steve was such a beautiful, selfless and humble human being. We all were the beneficiaries of his loving kind ways. the world would be a better place if everyone was a little more like Steve.
The best days of his life were when he met & married Eileen and then the births of each of his kids and grandkids. His legacy lives on in them.
Steve's life was cut short too soon for us but God wanted him back. And just as our mom and dad welcomed Stevie as their first born son 69 years ago, they both were there to welcome him to Heaven. Someday, we will all be together again. Until then, dearest brother, we will miss you.
