Obituary of Florence Marie Garnick

Our loving mother left our arms to be welcomed into the loving arms of our dad, and sister Tricia, on September 28, 2017, at the age of 91. Born in Akron on January 26, 1926, to the late John & Sophia Lauck, mom was the fourteenth of fifteen children. Mom married Dad on August 6, 1949 and together they raised 5 daughters and were the loving grandparents of 16 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with two on the way. Her daughters were the center of her universe. Mom was a wonderful homemaker, an excellent cook & baker, and loved to sew blankets for everyone. In addition to her parents, mom was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Andy, and her beloved daughter Tricia; son-in-law Rich. She is survived by her daughters Nancy Roth, Jeannine (Philip) Sisko, Kathleen (Terry) McElvenny, Pam (Sam)Tracy; grandchildren Jessica (Randy), Jacob (Carrie), Jill, Ben (Sharon), Josh (Kristy), Kara (Joe), Zach (Quyen), Nick, Chris (Nikki), Courtney, Andy, Maggie (John), Veronica, Valerie, Alex, & Cory; great-grandchildren Brenden, Kenny, Hannah, Gabe, Caitlin, Mallory, Jude, Allison, Natalie, Liam, Jaylen, Jett, & Vivian. The family would like to express their deep thanks and gratitude to all of the staffs at Crossroads Hospice, the Homestead at Gentle Brook, and the Rehab Unit at Pebble Creek Care Center for the wonderful care given to Mom. The family will receive friends on Monday, 5-8pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. in Akron, where a funeral will take place on Tuesday, 11am. Interment will follow at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
