Obituary of Doris Virginia Fisher

At 94 and 3/4, Doris met her Jesus and took her last breath in the last minutes of September 25, 2017. Doris was born in Akron on January 12, 1923 to the late Charles and Emma Haidet, and was a lifelong area resident. A 1941 graduate of East High, she went on to work as a tray girl at Akron City Hospital (where she spent her last days). During World War II, Doris worked as a Rosie the Riveter. She was a founding member of Queen of Heaven Parish, where she was a faithful Adorer of the Blessed Sacrament and a daily mass goer for as long at her health permitted. Doris also was a lifetime member of the DAV Auxiliary. In addition to her parents, Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Howard in 1997; four brothers and two sisters; several nieces and nephews, and all of her neighbors. She is survived by her beloved daughter and son-in-law, Holle and Paul Spehar; and many nieces and nephews. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on TOMORROW, Thursday, September 28 at 1:30 p.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Road in Green, where the family will receive friends for ONE HOUR PRIOR, beginning at 12:30.
