Obituary of William G. Hays

William G. Hays, born January 20, 1947, was called to join his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 26, 2017 in Lexington, Kentucky surrounded by his loving family. Bill was preceded in death by his parents, James and Alma Hays; wife of 35 years, Marianne; brother, Jim; sister, Kay; and step-daughter, Kena. He is survived by his wife of 12 years, Linda; daughter, Tina; sons, Ron (Sue) and Mike (Nikki); step-daughter, Connie (Claude); granddaughters, Danni and Addison; grandsons, Zach and Jake; step-grandsons, Adam and Kenneth; 3 great-grandchildren; and 3 step-great-grandchildren. After graduating from Kenmore High School, Bill started his career at B.F. Goodrich, where he worked for many years until the company closed. He married his first love and mother of his children, Mary on April 1, 1967. Bill’s next career move was working for the City of Akron in the Wastewater Treatment Facility where he worked for 13 years before retiring. His wife Mary was called to heaven on May 1, 2002 but Bill was blessed a couple years later to meet a sweet southern belle in a Christian chat room. He relocated to Middlesboro, Kentucky and he and Linda were married on September3, 2005. In his younger years, Bill enjoyed fishing and his bowling leagues. After settling into retirement, he enjoyed vacationing with his wife and family, watching wrestling on TV, his computer and kindle; and his scratch off lottery tickets. The true definition of a man of God, Bill spent his days studying and sharing God’s word through various tweeting ministries where he had so many followers and new friends. It was his passion, and it lead him to fulfill his lifelong dream of writing and publishing a book. His first one was a labor of love, written for the sole purpose of glorifying the Lord, and he was working on writing a couple of books right up until a few days before he was called home. Funeral service will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Thursday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your favorite church or charity; or buy yourself a scratch off lottery ticket in his memory. (Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, Akron)
