Julianna Crosky, passed away Tuesday, August 8, 2017. Julia was born April 21, 1921 in Akron to Harry and Kristina Lorko.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Samuel Crosky; and her sister, Olga Anderson.

Julia was very active throughout her lifetime.  After graduating from East High School, she held a number of positions, including head bookkeeper at Polsky’s.  She was proud to be one of the original “Rosy the Riveter’s” at Goodyear Aerospace during WWII.  Julia retired from the Barberton School District, and was a dedicated volunteer at Barberton Citizen’s Hospital for 27 years.  She was also one of the original founding members of St. Nicholas Russian Orthodox Church, where she was a tireless volunteer at their pierogi, nut roll, and bread-making workshops.  During the Church’s Annual Fall Festival, she was in charge of the dessert booth.

Julia leaves behind her daughter, Joyce Downs (David) and their children, Peterson Hanlon and Jarrett Downs all of California; son, Jerry Crosky of Barberton and his children; son, Jered Crosky of Pennsylvania; and daughter, Alisa Crosky of Akron and her children, Marisa and Bobby, Julianna's great-grandchildren; sister, Mary Lorko; niece, Kristine Nieblas (Gerard); and nephew, Craig Anderson all of California.
