Obituary of Mary Ellen Jurkoshek

Mary Ellen Jurkoshek, the beloved wife of Albert Jurkoshek, was called to eternal rest peacefully at home on May 18, 2017 at the age of 92. She is the beloved mother of six children; John (Jack), Janet and her husband Vincent Laquidari, Albert (Bud) who preceded her to the Father, Ruth, Teresa and Robert. She is the endearing grandmother of five children and great grandmother of five children: Jack’s son John and wife Kele and their children Ford and Rivers, daughter Trica, daughter Jill and her husband Mark Cates and their children Morgan, Ashland and Dayden, and daughter Shannon and her husband William Stucky; and Ruth’s daughter Ellen. Mom was a true ‘Irish Lassie’ who will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for the twinkle in her eyes, the smile in her heart and the humor in her step. She lived a life firm in her faith, committed to her family and charitable to her community. A lifelong resident of Cuyahoga Falls she regularly gave blood to the Red Cross, was long active in Mobile Meals, and consistently supported many charities. At Saint Joseph Parish she was a member of the Altar and Rosary and a Eucharistic Minister. After retiring from BF Goodrich she enjoyed many years participating in senior bowling; loved golfing, playing cards and walking in the metro parks. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Interment at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home McGowan-Reid & Santos Chapel, 247 Stow Ave. (one block North of Portage Trail at 3rd St.) Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44221. The family requests in lieu of flowers that a donation in her memory be made to Covenant House, Times Square Station, P.O.
