Obituary of Patricia Elizabeth Delagrange

Patricia Elizabeth (Doyle) Delagrange, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully in the presence of her family, at the Village at St Edward, on Tuesday, May 16, 2017. She had battled Alzheimers/Dementia for several years. Pat was born to James and Elizabeth (Coffey) Doyle in Akron, Ohio where she spent her entire life. She attended St. Paul grade school and Sacred Heart Academy, and was a graduate of St. Vincent High School. As a young adult Pat worked at Ohio Bell as an Operator and in her later years she was employed by Firestone Tire in the Computer Center. Pat's life focus was raising her 6 children and spending time at St. Paul Church and School, where she was a cook in the cafeteria. She spent many years as a volunteer for Right to Life of Northeast Ohio and had a special passion for life issues, especially adoption. In addition to her parents, Pat is now reunited with her loving husband of 58 years, Vincent, and siblings Richard, LaVerne, James and an infant sister. She will be greatly missed by her children and their families: Mary (Paul) Manuszak, Vincent (Judy) Delagrange, Elizabeth (Gregory) Schnitzler, Kevin (Elizabeth) Delagrange, Jeanie (Richard) Fausnight and Julie (Mark) Janis. Her 17 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren were the lights of her life and they will have such fond memories of her to carry with them throughout their lives. She will also be missed by her sisters-in-law Mary Ellen Doyle and Bunny Doyle and many nieces and nephews. Pat was a gentle and compassionate soul who taught her family the meaning of unconditional love. The family thanks the caring staff at the Village at St. Edward for the care of our Mom for the past 6 years. We are also grateful to Crossroads Hospice for making Mom's last days peaceful. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 11:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown Street, Akron, Ohio 44301, where the family will receive friends Saturday from 9:00 am until the time of services. Interment Holy Cross Cemetery.
