John Falkenstein

Obituary of John A. Falkenstein

John Falkenstein, 87, passed away peacefully on April 27th with his loving family by his side. After coming to the United States in 1952, John worked for 20 years at Ornamental Iron and retired from Parker Hannifin at the age of 62. As proof of what a hard worker he was, John went back to work at the age of 63 and worked another 23 years at Giant Eagle until health issues forced him to retire. He was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and served in the Holy Name Society. His faith was very important to him. He will always be remembered for his love of his family and his strong work ethic, which he instilled into all of his children. John was preceded in death by his parents Raphael and Rosalia; sisters Rosa, Sr. Iris, and Emma. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years Frances; children John (Dawn) Falkenstein, Linda (Jack) McClure, Richard (Michelle) Falkenstein, Diane (Don) Klein, and Josef (Rachel) Falkenstein; brother Albert, Alexander (Clara), and sister Emily (Mike) Menyes; grandchildren Michael (Missy) Falkenstein, Amy (Phillip) Samuda, Emily Falkenstein, Adam and Anton McClure, and Alexander Falkenstein; 7 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He will always be remembered as a loving "OPA". Special thanks to Father Milton and Sr. Karen for their loving care, frequent visits, and numerous prayers.
