Jean Erotas

Obituary of Jean Eleanor Erotas

Jean "Ellie" Boyle Erotas We are extremely sad to announce the passing of a remarkable woman, Jean "Ellie" (Boyle) Erotas, 93 wonderful years old. Born August 27, 1923 in Tremont, Illinois. Jean retired after a long, distinguished career at Goodyear Aerospace, both in Akron, Ohio and Litchfield Park, AZ where she and husband Jim retired and made many more lifelong friends. Jean and Jim moved back to Akron to be closer to family. Jean loved her condo on Portage Lakes for the great view of wild life and the beautiful swans, especially. She so enjoyed her many friends and loved to socialize with them all at dinners, card games and travel. Jean was well known as a church organist and at the piano. Jean also was the spelling bee champion for Illinois during her school days. But her biggest joy was her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. We are so fortunate and grateful for her long, healthy life as she got to enjoy and know them so well. More importantly, our children got to know and love her so much. She was so very special to them. She absolutely loved for her daughter, and best friend Cheryl, to tell her stories and share pictures of everything they did daily. We could not have asked for nor received a more loving, generous wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. Jean touched all our lives in so many wonderful ways...her positivity, warm encouragement, delightful wit and memorable laugh will forever be in our hearts. Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Hazel Boyle, her loving husband, James Erotas, brother Don (Jody) Boyle, sister Evelyn (John) Cundiff, brother Wayne Boyle and baby sister Betty Boyle. Jean is survived by children and spouses, Cheryl (David) Childress, Gary (Nancy Sample) Parvin , Yvonne Marley of Phoenix, Ariz., Cynthia (Greg) Rockwell of Phoenix, AZ., James (Sandi) Erotas of Quartz Hill, CA, grandchildren; Stacee (Robert) Mikolich, Valerie (Doug) Ambrose, Nick, Alek and Erik Erotas, Van Rockwell, Dustin and Sean Marley. Great-grandchildren, Jack and Sam Mikolich, Mason, Michael and namesake, Ellie Ambrose. Kovi and Yossi Erotas and Makayla. A special thank you to John and Sharon Stephens, Joy Moore, Greg and Connie Cundiff, Randy and Lin Cundiff, John Boyle, Rose Mikolich, Beverly and Eppie in AZ. for their daily/weekly calls to Jean. She so enjoyed those calls and we are so grateful. And Jean loved her visits by her extended family, John and Janice Zimmerman. She also leaves in Illinois niece and nephew, Donna Jean (Theron) Summers and Ed (Ginny) Boyle. A Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, March 17 at 2:00 PM at St. Paul Catholic Church. The family will receive friends at 1:00 PM in the church narthex. Cremation has taken place and interment of the ashes will take place after the Mass at Holy Cross Cemetery. Reception at Guys Party Center. In remembrance of her wonderful life, donations may be made in Jean's name to the charity of your choice.
