Obituary of Betty Lena Weis

Betty L. Weis, 88 passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2017. She was born in Pennsylvania and was an Akron area resident for over 70 years. She was a member of Firestone Park United Methodist Church and had worked for the former O’Neil’s Department Store. Betty volunteered for many years at Summa as a receptionist and enjoyed taking care of her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvin and Grace Faidley; husband, Kenneth F. Weis; and brother, Dale Faidley. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Joyce and Lindsay Thomas; son and daughter-in-law, Dennis and Emilee Weis; sister, Verna Ruth Hillen; brother, Roy Faidley; grandchildren, Brian Thomas, Jennifer Stancil (Thomas) and Sarah Billings; and great-grandchildren, Tommy and Danny. Funeral service will be held Monday, 1 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301. Pastor Terry Baker officiating. Interment at Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday, 12 to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
