Obituary of Donald L. Pozza

-CUYAHOGA FALLS Donald L. Pozza, 84, of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on January 25, 2017, surrounded by his loving family after bravely battling a year of multiple myeloma and kidney failure. He was retired from the East Ohio Gas Company where he worked for 37 years and a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He will be fondly remembered for his wit, his great love of his grandchildren, his funny antics, and always finding a way to injure himself! He was preceded in death by his wife Jessie, whom he lovingly cared for when Alzheimers' so cruelly took her from him. He was also preceded in death by his mother and brothers, Gene and Jim. He is survived by his son Tom (Kim) Pozza, daughter Terri (Mike) Crimaldi, granddaughters Kelley (Ryan) Adams, Megan Pozza (fiancé Andrew), Lisa (J.T.) Trettel, Lori Crimaldi (fiancé Clay), and great-grandson Carter. He also leaves his brother and best friend, whom he lovingly referred to as "that idiot brother of mine," Tony Pozza, and his wife Charlotte, who was "his girl," also his nephew Larry Pozza who led him to Christ in his final days and Sherry Henry who was more than just a niece to him. The last year of Dad's life was a struggle but because of the amazing care and friendship of Millie, his caregiver, he was able to smile, laugh, and endure. We all thank you Millie. Special thanks to all of the staff at the Hospice of the Gardens of Western Reserve, especially Rich and Hannah. You made his end days feel like home to him. The family will receive friends on Sunday, 2-5 pm, at the Anthony Funeral Home MCGOWAN-REID & SANTOS CHAPEL, 247 Stow Ave. (at Third St., one block north of Portage Trail in) Cuyahoga Falls. A funeral service will take place on Monday, 11am, at the funeral home with Pastor Larry Pozza officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
