Obituary of Hope Louise Colopy

Hope Louise Colopy, 85, passed away at Chapel Hill Retirement Community on January 20, 2017. Born in Akron on February 19, 1931 to the late Edward & Edith Friggens, Hope was a lifetime area resident and a graduate of Kenmore High School. She graduated from the University of Akron with a Master's Degree in education and taught fifth grade at Highland Park Elementary for 30 years. In addition to her parents, Hope was preceded in death by her husband James R. Colopy in 1992 & son Dr. James L. Colopy in 2002. She is survived by her daughter-in-law and adopted son Dottie (Hassan Alhassani) Colopy of Green; grandchildren James J. (fiancee Diana Hibbs), David R., Erin E.(fiance Tony DePasquale) Colopy; great-granddaughter Evelyn DePasquale. A special thanks to the staff and caregivers of the Chapel Hill Community for their loving and compassionate care of Hope. Hope will be reunited with her husband privately with family at the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery in Rittman.
