Obituary of Helen Agnes Kukasky

New Franklin – Helen Kukasky, 93, passed away Sunday January 10, 2016. Helen was born May 1, 1922 to Adam and Susan (Straugh) Gretta in Keisterville, PA and has been an Akron area resident since 1936. She was a faithful and involved member of St. John Lutheran Church, participating in nearly every church ministry or event. She was a beautician with the Pamper Parlor and was employed by McDonalds in her later years. Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband Paul; siblings George, John, Frank, Melvin, Robert and James Gretta and Evelyn Pantages and is survived by her children Sue Ellen (Tom) Goodwin, Paul A. (Connie), David (Barb) and Gerald (Elaine) Kukasky and Elaine (Fred) Teaman; grandchildren David and Steven Kukasky and Patrick Goodwin; siblings Alma Manuszak, Jeanne (Rev. Harold) Schewe and Richard Gretta. The family will receive friends Thursday 4 to 7 pm at the Anthony and Son Funeral Home, 4178 Massillon Rd. Uniontown OH 44685 (corner of Massillon and Steese Roads in Green, entrance off Steese Rd.). Funeral services will be held Friday 11:00 am at St. John Lutheran Church, 550 E. Wilbeth Road, Akron OH 44301 with Rev. Mark D. Hanchett officiating. A dinner will be held immediately following the services at the church and will be followed by interment at Crown Hill Cemetery.
