Obituary of Ronald Wayne Snyder

Ronald W. Snyder, 70, passed away Saturday, January 9, 2016. Ron retired from Akron Public Schools after 31 ½ years of teaching, where he touched many lives. He played fast pitch baseball as a shortstop & a second baseman, and also played basketball as a guard. He was an avid fisherman & loved to read. Preceded in death by his parents, Marjorie & Howard Snyder, Ron is survived by the love of his life & wife of 24 years Nancy; brother Dave (Mary); children Kristen McMahon, Denise Snyder, Marc Snyder, Noel (Eric) Johnson, Melissa (Christian) Reitemann, Lisa (Michael) Carden & Ryan Zanders (Katty Nestor); and 11 grandchildren. The family is grateful to the staff at Summa Hospice for their compassionate care of Ron; also to special niece Linda Stock who helped care for Ron during these past years. We will deeply miss his love, guidance, sense of humor and even his relentless stubbornness. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 23 at 11 AM at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Road, Uniontown, OH 44685, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior, beginning at 10 AM.
