Obituary of Madeline Elinne Corney

Madeline Elinne Corney, 80, passed away December 20, 2015. Born in Green Township on January 23, 1935, Madeline had been a lifetime Green resident. She worked for over 20 years as a Registered Nurse at Timken Mercy Hospital in Canton. She was a parishioner of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church and was a member of the Eagles Aerie #233, BPOE Elks, and Prestwick Country Club. Madeline was an avid golfer, bowler, and tennis player. She enjoyed sewing, as well as knitting for charitable organizations. Madeline was preceded in death by her parents Edward & Annie Reischman, as well as six siblings and her daughter-in-law Lorrain Corney. She is survived by her beloved husband of nearly 58 years, Donald; sons Dan & Rick (Lisa); sister Cathy Barnes & brother Joseph (Becky) Reischman; grandchildren Lauren (Vincent) Brechbill, Allysa (Christopher) Brooks, & Geoffrey Corney; great-grandchildren Alivia & Vincent Brechbill & Henry Brooks. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 22 from 4-7 pm, at the Anthony & Son Funeral Home of Green 4178 Massillon Rd. (at the intersection of Rte. 241 & Steese Rd., entrance off of Steese) in Green. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. David Durkee on Wednesday, 11:00 am, at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd. in Green. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a memorial contribution be made to the Alzheimer's Association Greater East Ohio Area 70 W. Streetsboro St., Suite 201, Hudson, OH 44236.
