Obituary of Bernard H. Riedinger

GREEN - Bernard "Bernie" Riedinger, 84, passed away Friday, November 20, 2015 at Fairlawn Rehab Center. Bernie was born May 27, 1931 to Henry and Ruth (Knapp) Riedinger in Akron and had been an Akron area resident his entire life. He was employed by UPS for over 30 years. Following his retirement, Bernie became one of the "two old men in a truck" with his buddy George for J.R.'s Tool Crib. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Bernie will be remembered as a great story teller and Euchre player. Bernie is survived by his wife of 63 years, Marilyn (Shoff); children, David (Pam) Riedinger, Joan Kosir, John (Karen) and Jim (Michelle) Riedinger and Diane (Tim) Gansel; 14 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by his brother, Lee Riedinger; sisters, Agnes Hissong, Geraldine Hutchinson and Marita Collins; and son-in-law, Cy Kosir. Special thank you to Bernie's aide, Wendy, for her gentle care. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, 10 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 1800 Steese Rd., Uniontown OH 44685, where the family will receive friends prior to services.
