Obituary of Mary Rose Horvath
Mary Rose Horvath, 94, passed away on November 10, 2015, at the Hospice Care Center in Fairlawn.
A lifetime Akron resident, Mary was a graduate of Garfield High School. She retired from General Tire and was a member of St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church. She was an avid seamstress and loved to crochet and paint ceramics, of which she would give away to family and friends.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Steve & Mary Wargo; husbands Michael & John; sister Irene and her beloved daughter Irene Teresa, who was tragically killed in a car accident; brother Steve; step-grandson Steve Johnson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Barbara & George Johnson; brother James (Carolyn) Wargo; sister Helen Porter of MI; grandson Danny Shankel, who was like her own son; granddaughter Jennifer (Tom) Smyth, and her precious great-grandchildren Cynthia, Matthew, and Evan Smyth; step-grandson Terry (Michelle), as well as many nieces & nephews, and special niece Cynthia Knight.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, November 14, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 4019 Manchester Rd. Inurnment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Francis de Sales Church 4019 Manchester Rd. Akron, OH 44319.
