Obituary of Josephine Marie Desimone

Josephine M. Desimone, 92, died Friday, October 16, 2015 in Schenectady, New York, where she had been residing with her daughter for the past five years. Josephine was born in Akron on January 15, 1923 to the late Francesco & Raffaella Vaccaro, and was an area resident most her life. She married her devoted husband of 60 years, John M. Deimone, in 1950, and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. "Jo" could always be counted on to demonstrate her quick wit especially at parties. In addition to her parents, Josephine was preceded in death by her husband John Sr. in 2010; son, John Jr. in 2007 and siblings Virginia Schifano, Catherine Paparone, Anna Vaccaro, Francis Guistino, and Frank Vaccaro. She is survived her daughter, Joani and son-in-law Louie Isabella of Scotia, N.Y.; grandchildren Christopher Isabella and wife Ting-Ho Su, great grandchildren Nino and Gabrielle Su of Princeton, N.J., Sean Isabella and wife Jenn of Boston, Mass., and Michael Isabella of Manhattan, N.Y. Josephine is also survived by her sibling, Joanne and Joe Finelli of Florida; sister-in-law Gracie Usberghi of Florida; as well as many wonderful cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 26, at 11 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1580 Brown St. in Akron, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior, beginning at 10 AM. Entombment will take place at Holy Cross Cemetery in Akron.
