Obituary of Nancy Jane Scott

GREEN - Nancy R. Scott (née Ruhe), a beloved wife, mother and grandmother died on Thursday, October 8, 2015 in Canton, OH after a long battle with cancer. She was 77. Nancy was born on November 24, 1938 in Duquesne, Pa to George and Anna Ruhe. She graduated from Duquesne High school in 1956 and Marietta College in 1960 with a degree in biology. She married Charles E. Scott, her college sweetheart in 1960. In 1984, after raising her four boys, she started work at Smythe Cramer Realtors, now Howard Hanna. After a successful career as a realtor she switched to corporate relocation where she consistently had the highest closing rate in the office. Nancy was always known for her amazing baked goods and was referred to by her clients as the "Cookie Lady". Nancy retired very briefly eight years ago but went back to work at the Green office as a salesperson where she worked right up to her last week. Through it all the love of Nancy's life was her husband, her sons and her grandchildren. One of the other joys of Nancy's life was Christmas; with the goal of making sure everyone got exactly what they wanted. Nancy was affectionately known to her family as Gaga. Nancy is survived by Charles, her husband and best friend of 55 years; her brother James Ruhe and his wife Barbara of Rehoboth Beach, MD; her sons Jeffrey of Philadelphia, PA, Bruce and his wife Rachel of Willoughby Hills, OH, Kevin of Los Angeles, CA, and Douglas and wife Julie of Columbus, OH; her five granddaughters Emily, Katie, Abby, Ever and Lillian, and her grandson Christopher McKay.
