Xenophon Maistros

Obituary of Xenophon C. (Sam) Maistros

Xenophon (Sam) C. Maistros died suddenly on October 4, 2015. He was preceded in death by his father, Kosta Maistros; uncles, Gus Lerakis, James Lerakis, John Skeriotis and Yango Litras Maistros; and aunts, Lemonia Lerakis and Kiki Litras Maistros. He is survived by his mother, Coula Maistros; sister, Georgia Maistros-Kote; brother-in-law, Chris Kote; and nephew, Cameron Kote. He is also survived by aunts, Angie Skeriotis and Irma Lerakis; and many cousins in the greater Akron area, Warren and Chios, Greece. Sam was our brother, our uncle, our cousin and most of all our friend. He was a gentle soul and had a unique and touching presence to all who knew him. As sad as we are to lose Sam so soon we thank the Lord for compassion in sparing him long suffering in his passing. He had great fun this summer with his East High School class of 1965. Thank you to his classmates for your kindness and love for Sam as he treasured those moments very much. We are thankful that by great circumstance he spent time with family during the weeks preceding his death, visiting his mother and going to the Greek Festival and just hanging out with his cousins. To our church family and friends, we love you, and the blessings of having you close at hand when Sam left us is a tender mercy that cannot be expressed by mere words. In all of this we thank God for grace to sustain us. Goodbye Sammy we will miss you so much and we will never forget you.
