Obituary of Mary Helen Winningham

Mary Helen (Harris) Winningham, 82, passed away Saturday, September 12, 2015. She was born in Allons, Tennessee and came to the Akron area in 1960. She retired from the J.C. Penney Co. in 1974 after 12 years of service. She was an excellent seamstress and made clothes for the store mannequin's at Penney's. She enjoyed hobbies and crafts and made many beautiful items for her future grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Orville and Alta (Sullivan) Harris; husband, Carvel; and siblings, Agnes Harris Borm, Betty Lou Harris Collins and R.Q. Lillard Harris. She is survived by her children, Judy K. Morris and Gerald K. Winningham; siblings, Marie Harris Ferrell and Danya Kay Harris Chilton (Billy); grandchildren, James A. Morris (Tiffany) and Brian J. Morris (Courtney); one great-grandchild to be, on the way, Aly; special nephew, Kevin Collins whom she loved as a son; many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly; and dear friends, Hope and her husband, Troy Goforth. Calling hours will be held Monday, September 14, 2015 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Anthony Funeral Home Kucko-Anthony-Kertesz Chapel, 1990 S. Main St. Akron, Ohio 44301.
